Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and is the third and final installment in Ubisoft’s acclaimed Sands of time trilogy. It was released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and Windows PC in 2005. The game continues the journey of the Prince as he return to Babylon with Kaileena, only to find his realm in ruins. The story where the Prince is infected by the Sands of Time, resulting in the creation of his darker alter ego: the Dark Prince. It explores themes of duality and internal conflict which become the key to the gameplay and narrative, highlighting the Prince’s struggle between vengeance and nobility.
While revolutionizing the gameplay with new mechanics and narrative twists, it brings closure to the trilogy’s plot. The dynamic between the Prince and his dark persona that introduces combat styles, new abilities and moral dilemmas is one of the standout features. The game also introduces the Speed Kill System and refines the parkour-inspired movement system and time manipulation mechanics. It enables stealth-like takedowns. Adding variety to the gameplay, players can control a chariot in fast-paced chase sequences.
