Bloody Roar 2 is the second installment in the cult-classic Bloody Roar Fighting game series. It was released in 1999 for the PlayStation and developed by Eighting and Hudson Soft. Famous for its distinctive combination and conventional fighting mechanics and beast transformation power, the game made its own niche in the competitive fighting genre of the late ’90s. Beast forms are introduced where characters transform into powerful animal hybrids mid-battle, makes it different from many other fighting games of its time.
It offers depth and variety in combat. With improved graphics, smoother animations and a refined combo system, the game build upon its predecessor makes matches more fluid and visually striking. The Story Mode is among its remarkable features which provides background narratives for each fighter and the Versus Mode enables competitive play between friends. Increasing diversity in fighting styles and strategies, the addition of new characters like Shina the Leopard and Jenny the Bat expanded the roster.
