Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard combines tactical combat, RPG style character development and indepth strategic resource management in a world filled with monsters, high fantasy conflict and magic as it is set in the iconic Dungeons & Dragons universe. It is a real time strategy game. Players are introduced to the mysterious world of Kyber and Eberron, set in the Eberron campaign setting. To control the legendary Dragonshards, ancient crystals that fuel magic, technology and power, powerful factions wage war. To captivate players in a dynamic strategy experience that bridges the depth of tabletop role playing with the speed and challenge of real-time strategy that motivates players to make meaningful decisions both on battlefields and in long term progression is the main purpose of the game.
The game is separated into two distinct layers, the surface world where huge army battles occur and the underground realm where traditional D&D adventure feel is added by dungeon exploration, treasures, traps and monsters. A central role is played by commanders and heroes. RPG-style leveling, loot-based equipment, and skill development that provide strategic advantages and long-term growth are offered by it. Numerous races and factions including humans, undead and lizardfolk each with its own economy, base structures, unit roster and combat philosophy are the features of the game.
